Thank You For Everything Banbury
Aug 9th, 2009 by carles
It’s time to start a new adventure. It’s been almost three years in Banbury. Thank you to everyone I met in town, thank you everyone from work, thank you friends, thanks to the bad and good moments, thanks to all places I’ve been. Thanks to you.
The symbol of the town is Banbury Cross and its “Fine Lady” who It’s rumoured that was actually a Fiennes lady from Broughton Castle.
Ride a cock horse to Banbury Cross,
To see a fine lady ride on a white horse,
With rings on her fingers and bells on her toes,
She shall have music wherever she goes
I love the version of this rhyme which I believe that The Specials added to their version of the Toots & the Maytals song ‘Monkey Man‘
I was on my way to Banbury Cross,
Then I see a monkey upon a white horse
With rings on he fingers, bells on him toes
Sing a little song, wherever he be
This one’s for Banbury. Big, big Monkey Man!
This one’s for the bouncers. Big, big Monkey Man
Aye aye aye, aye aye aye
Tell you baby, you huggin up the big monkey man
Aye aye aye, aye aye aye
Tell you baby, you huggin up the big monkey manI never saw you, I only heard of you
huggin up the big monkey man
I never saw you, I only heard of you
huggin up the big monkey manIt’s no lie, it’s no lie
Them a tell me, you huggin up the big monkey man
It’s no lie, it’s no lie
Them a tell me, you huggin up the big monkey manNow I know that, now I understand
You’re turning a monkey on me
Now I know that, now I understand
You’re turning a monkey on meAye aye aye, aye aye aye
Tell you baby, you huggin up the big monkey man
Aye aye aye, aye aye aye
Tell you baby, you huggin up the big monkey manI was on my way to Banbury Cross,
Then I see a monkey upon a white horse
With rings on he fingers, bells on him toes
Sing a little song, wherever he be
‘Cos he’s a monkey, ‘cos he’s a monkey
‘Cos he’s a weedy little monkey manAye aye aye, aye aye aye
Tell you baby, you huggin up the big monkey man
Aye aye aye, aye aye aye
Tell you baby, you huggin up the big monkey man

No deu haver estat fàcil… tot i això, se’t veu agrait… es tanca una porta i s’obra una altra…
Felicitats per l’aventura quasi enllestida…
Well, what can I say, my friend? It was definitely a nice piece of world…
Pere
